Abstract

The article examines China's industrial policy, focusing on the country's large government-owned business enterprises. A disparity is considered between those businesses' declining share of the country's economy and their large profits, which are primarily due to government policies favoring them over private businesses. Competitive disadvantages faced by foreign corporations in China created by government policies are considered.
