Abstract
- The article offers information on an investigation attempting to illustrate an attempt combining a common approach to fraction equivalence and whole number multiplication and division, in mathematical education of elementary school students. The study inspired by a 2001 research paper by Susan B. Empson of the University of Texas in Austin, seeks to present how equivalent fractions and whole numbers operations are connected. Also mentioned are the different steps of the procedure.
