Abstract

The article presents a study that determines the effectiveness of chemoprophylaxis in mitigating syphilis epidemics among gay men. It outlines the method of the study in which 2095 gay men have indicated that they would likely use chemoprophylaxis to reduce chance of acquiring the disease. The result of the study showed the effectiveness of chemoprophylaxis in the randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial among HIV-infected men who are at risk of sexually transmitted disease.
