REINVENTING SOCIAL DEMOCRACY FOR THE 21ST CENTURY.

The article discusses the reinvention and revival of the tradition of social democracy in the case of Australia for the 21st century. It argues that economist Karl Marx and most of his followers were mistaken when they promoted the idea that changing ownership of the means of production is the indispensable element to radical social change. The author mentions that the experience of the government of Russia in terms of eliminating capitalist property failed to serve the broader process of emancipation.
