Abstract
- The author offers opinions on the political implications of revelations of telephone hacking by reporters at British newspapers owned by publisher News International and financier Rupert Murdoch. It is argued that the scandal will seriously damage Prime Minister David Cameron, as his employment of former News International employees implicated in the scandal and his relationship with Murdoch will reinforce suspicions among voters that Cameron's Conservative Party does not share their interests.
