Abstract

The article offers the author's insights regarding the cultural issues among risk assessment, precautionary principle, public health, and sustainability using the writings of Adam Finkel as basis. He mentions that risk assessment often builds on the opportunity provided by new science including molecular biology instead of focusing on the information needed to address a problem. Moreover, he adds that the move toward sustainability is consistent with a public health culture.
