Personal health budgets and personal health plans in the east of England.

The article reports on efforts that three primary medical care trusts in England are making in 201 to investigate and pilot personal health budget initiatives. The work that National Health Service (NHS) Bedfordshire is doing with budgets for stroke and Parkinson's disease, NHS Norfolk is doing with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and NHS Mid-Essex is doing with dementia, is discussed. The impact that personal health budgets may have on British patients is examined.
