Abstract

Objective: To show, how in a family group, the emptiness (negative) is the element common all members of the family that leads to deny the other's existence. The negative or that which cannot be represented, it's manifested as the uncanny. Development: Through clinical vignettes is illustrated as in the counter transference, the analyst discovers the uncanny to hide the negative. The use of denial and the splits manifests themselves as bizarre. The presence of the analyst allows the recovery and processing of split-off aspects of each family member so they can recognize and be recognized as subjects of that group. Results and Conclusions: The use of counter contratransference is essential to ensure the registration of the negative at different levels: in the preverbal, verbal language, and defense mechanisms.
