Abstract
- The article looks at examples of cultural hybridity as seen in Indonesian Gamelan music which contains aspects of Western music. The use of instruments common to Western popular music in Gamelan is discussed, including guitar and violin. The author also considers genres prevalent within fusion music, predominantly jazz and ethnic popular music.
