Abstract

The article presents poetry criticism of the poems "The Sacrifice" and "Redemption" by George Herbert. According to the author, the poems do not follow the Christology of theologian John Calvin but instead are illustrative of theologian Martin Luther's concept of the communion of human and divine properties. Topics discussed include redemption, suffering, sacrifice, and the relationship between God and humanity.
