Abstract
- The article discusses the findings of fluorescence studies of axon excitability. According to the author, axons have been intensely studied since the earliest days of neurophysiology because electrical transmission along axons to axon terminal is significant in neuronal signalling. The author mentions a study by Popovic and associates that exploit a voltage-sensitive dye that is loaded into single cells with sufficiently rapid and large modifications in fluorescence.
