Abstract
- The article highlights the discussion about the Arab Spring between Columbia University professor Hamid Dabashi and George Mason University professor Bassam Haddad during the Alwan for the Arts held on June 8, 2011. According to Dabashi, the Arab Spring is part of an international movement meant to break down colonially manufactured social and economic barriers. Haddad claimed that this movement is a revolution that basically rejects neo-liberalism all around the world.
