Abstract: The article focuses on the medical discoveries uncovered by immunologists Daniel and Shawn Winer, suggesting that type-2 diabetes might be stimulated by a defined autoimmune response. In their two papers in "Nature Medicine," they have demonstrated that a T cell offsets insulin resistance and a B cell attacks tissues that impairs cells to respond to insulin. According to Shawn, immune cells might influence the occurrence of genetic diseases since they have access to every tissue of the body.
