Abstract

The article discusses shooting wildlife in black and white as an alternative to usual color photographs. The digital camera's most powerful tool in this case is said to be RAW capture, a format that allows developing images in a wide variety of color palettes, or with no color at all, from the same file. For processing black and white photos, Photoshop is recommended over Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) because of its greater range of options. Another tool is the Hue/Saturation/Luminance tab in ACR.
