Abstract
- The article examines prospects for the future of coal-fired electrical power plants in the U.S. According to a report by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), coal-fired power plants are among the most important and oldest units in the country. It notes the importance of coal units to U.S. industrial growth. It points out the potential impact of new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations on electricity generation and these plants.
