Abstract
- The article presents discussion regarding the use of collaborative networking structures to promote and maintain professional development between school teachers during and after the use of coaching. The context of the authors' experiences are described, citing their involvement in the coaching program of the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative of California. Major issues addressed during their work are outlined and discussed, including how to sustain teacher learning, how instructional coaches can continue to develop as teachers, and the mutual collaboration and examination of teachers and their coaches.
