Abstract
- The article presents an examination into the Modernist artistic community of Taxco, Mexico in 1931. Introductory details are given highlighting a photograph featuring the Russian film maker Sergei Eisenstein, the American silversmith William Spratling, the Mexican film maker Chano Ureta, and the Mexican artist David Alfaro Siqueiros together. Details are given describing the artistic and political conditions of Taxco in the 1930s which led to the artists' social network in the region. Analysis is also provided regarding the ideological "community" of artists associated with the group.
