China Fails to Finish First.

China surprisingly finished third in men's qualifying at the world gymnastics championships on Monday in Tokyo, the first time it has not finished first at a major competition since the 2004 Olympics. Japan was first in qualifying, followed by the United States. China can still win the gold medal in the team final Wednesday. Britain was 10th and failed to qualify for the London Olympics, though it will have another chance in January at an Olympic test event in Greenwich, England.
