Pressure to work through periods of short term sickness.

In this article, the author discusses a study on the effect of presenteeism, working in long term without taking sick leave, on the working capacity of professionals. The author states that the in certain occupations, particularly involving caring and teaching, have high rate of presenteeism. The author opines that for occupational health or workplace productivity serious consideration should be given to presenteeism.
