Abstract

The article focuses on a study to determine whether unfolded protein response is a major mechanism by which low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein associated protein 1 (LRP1) Regulates Schwann Cell (SC) Survival after peripheral nerve injury. It is stated that the injury is associated with activation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and the adaptive unfoldedprotein response (UPR). It found that LRP1 functions as a potent activator of Phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) in SCs.
