Abstract

The article offers information on a paper issued by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee that describes the direct measurement of oxygen reduction and oxygen vacancy diffusion using electrochemical strain microscopy. American Ceramic Society (ACerS) member Sergei Kalinin highlights the electrochemical strain microscopy in imaging ion mobility. The significance of the ESM technique in measuring electrochemical reactivity and ionic currents is also noted.
