Abstract
- The article looks at two government shipbuilding contracts in Canada for which three provinces were bidding, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and British Columbia. Topics discussed include the awarding of 25 billion dollar and 8 billion dollar contracts to Halifax, N.S. and Vancouver, B.C. respectively, how the federal government created the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy in 2009 to allay tension over the decision, and alternate ways the government is helping Quebec economically.
