Abstract

The article investigates the effects of cholecystokinin octapeptide on thermoregulation, postresuscitation myocardial function, neurologic outcome and survival duration on a rat model of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The blood temperature of rats decreased progressively for five hours following the injection of cholecystokinin octapeptide. Results show that it also induced hypothermia, attenuated postresuscitation myocardial dysfunction and improved neurologic outcome and survival duration.
