Abstract

The article discusses the positive and negative aspects of nerve conduction studies (NCS), which is a part of complete peripheral neurophysiological examination (PNE). As stated, NCS involve activating nerves electrically with safe pulses over the skin of the limbs and measuring the responses, which is then accompanied by a needle electromyogram. Information is given that NCS is useful in localizing lesions and determining the pathological processes. INSETS: List of abbreviations and terminology used;Minimum basic physiological knowledge to understand nerve.
