Abstract

Abstract: The organophosphorus (OP) compounds are used as pesticides. Their toxic properties have been exploited in the preparation of neurotoxic agents. One of the major explored sectors to realize their risk is the development of new detection techniques. The enzymatic inhibition techniques have a large contribution in the detection of OP. During our study, some OP compounds were synthesized and tested on the butyrylcholinesterase enzyme extracted from horse serum. Enzymatic activity was determined by optical density. Kinetic study was carried out using UV spectrophotometer on OP taken alone or in mixture. The optimization of the process was established using a mathematical model of factorial design of experiments. The results allowed us to establish a relationship between the reaction rate of butyrylcholinesterase deactivation and the inhibitory power of the OP. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
