Abstract

The article focuses on a study related to a prediction on which type of people with psychosocial distress are prone to the risk of becoming dependent on long term government supported medical benefits. The study found that factors like mild mental disorders and frequent consultations in general practice can help in predicting long term sickness absence up to three years before people become dependent on benefits. It informs that a cut off of 10 or more consultations were used during the study.
