Abstract
- The article reviews the strategies practiced by the University of California Libraries, which has enabled it to survive and reap a return on investments (ROI) for 35 years of budgetary cuts. The first, known as continuous improvement calls on all employees to think of ways to improve operations. The second strategy is industrywide collaboration in all aspects of library work, including cataloging, union catalogs and chat reference.
