Abstract
- The authors argue that public reporting of health-care quality measures will not inform and educate patients. They cite current limitations of public quality reports, including patient perceptions of quality differ from definitions used in public reporting, and reported measures may not be relevant to a number of patients. They mention potential solutions to these limitations, including promoting the benefits of selecting high-quality health-care providers.
