Abstract
- The article presents several news briefs related to medicine. The first of four pivotal trials of AstraZeneca/ Targacept's TC-5214 for major depressive disorder has failed. Pfizer Inc.'s atorvastatin (Lipitor) which grossed over US 130 billion dollars in sales since its approval in 1996 came off patent on November 30, 2011. The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) has released a white paper on the value of "Quantitative and Systems Pharmacology."
