Abstract
- The article focuses on a 10-year retrospective study on tracheostomy cases at a university teaching hospital in Northwestern Tanzania. The study was conducted at the Bugando Medical Centre from January 2001 to December 2010 and data of 214 patients was analyzed. It shows that upper airway obstruction was the most leading cause for tracheostomy, followed by trauma and laryngeal tumors.
