Abstract

The article focuses on the development of the 510-megawatt FlexEfficiency 50 combined cycle power plant by GE Energy in the U.S. An overview of the FlexEfficiency 50 design is outlined which is a 60 percent thermal efficiency class of plants. Features of the plant are highlighted which include a 9FB combustion turbine, heat recovery steam generator and the Mark VIe digital control system.
