Abstract

The article discusses the results of a study on the development of a classification tree to group hospital patients with acute lung injury based on mortality risk. Factors considered in the creation of classification tree include age, blood urea nitrogen, respiratory rate, shock, and minute ventilation. The prediction error in the training set and the receiver operating characteristic curve of the classification tree is similar to Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation III.
