Abstract
- The article discusses the "Enemies of Art" referred to by English poet William Blake in his notebook that addresses English sculptor John Flaxman and English painter Thomas Stothard. The author looks at an instance of Blake referring to himself as "Death" in one satirical work, as he visits the tombstones of his enemies. The article notes that Blake believed Flaxman and Stothard to be envious of him and conspired against him. Other included works by Blake relating to this topic include "The Four Zoas" and "Public Address."
