Abstract

The article discusses the results of a study that examines the characteristics of the second stage of labor and its association with increasing maternal prepregnancy body mass index (BMI) among nulliparous parturient women. The study shows that increased in BMI is associated with the likelihood that women had undergone induction of labor. It concludes that high maternal BMI is not associated with increased risk of cesarian delivery or a longer second stage of labor.
