Beyond atopic eczema: filaggrin loss-of-function mutations in dry, fissured hand eczema.

The author discusses the study by J. P. Thyssen and colleagues on the relation between hand fissures and vesicles and filaggrin gene mutations R501X o 2282del4. The author says that the study has identified a significant association only with the former morphology. Moreover, it suggests that filaggin mutation was associated with dry, fissured skin in patients without atopic eczema.
