Abstract
- The article focuses on Mathematics Genealogy Project (MGP), a web-based database of over 150,000 scholars for the academic genealogy of mathematicians. As stated, MGP is used to trace academic lineages and to study the role of mentorship. It further informs that this network representation can be used to estimate the mathematical prestige of a university and a chart depicting authority scores with three rankings of mathematics department of different universities is also presented.
