Abstract
- This article reports on a study which characterized the genetic variation of the porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) virus that caused an outbreak in China from 2010 to 2011. Researchers collected 177 tissue samples from pigs from different farms who had diarrhea and compared them with viruses in other outbreaks. By reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (PCR), researchers learned that a total of 125 samples were confirmed as positive for PED virus.
