Abstract
- The article looks at several U.S. political leaders including governors, grassroots organizers, and attorneys general whom the author posits are quietly making important, positive political changes in the shadow of ostentatious right-wing Republican elected officials. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, and community organizer Van Jones are profiled. Some of their achievements mentioned include spearheading a campaign to legalize gay marriage in New York, founding the grassroots political organization Rebuild the Dream, and blocking a settlement with major U.S. banks that allegedly hurt the U.S. consumer.
