Study Examines Relationship Among Mainstream, Other Media.

This study addresses the issue of citizen journalism and the effects of the potential substitutability of public affairs blogs and non-mainstream news media outlets for use of mainstream daily newspapers and weeklies. Topics include ways that media products defy neoclassical economic theory by demanding individual and differentiated content, the idea of media mixes disrupting within-media competition, and the existence of strong relationships between non-daily news media across multiple platforms of media expression.
