Global crisis is an expression of the structural changes and deep-rooted contradictions which have occurred within the global system in the last thirty years. As a result, today's global fmancial system is marked by three profound vulnerabilities: the explosive growth of the fmancial system relative to manufacturing and the economy as a whole, and the proliferation of speculative and destabilising financial instruments of wealth accumulation; the loss of relative power by the US dolar as a reserve currency, and other weaknesses in the global financial system have surfaced.These three areas where contradictions and vulnerabilities have been structurally emerging by the very logic of the global economic system and the process of capital accumulation. The main goal of this paper is to analyze the global imbalances that are widely seen as a cause of the last global financial crisis. The combination of all of these three factors caused the recent anomalies that have been seen in the global financial markets in the last years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
