Abstract
- The article focuses on the ocular and medical emergencies which are likely to be encountered by optometrists in practice. Ocular emergencies such as trauma, central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) and acute angle closure glaucoma should be managed properly in order to avoid irreversible blindness. On the other hand, medical emergencies like giant cell arteritis, papilloedema and orbital cellulitis can result to death if these are mismanaged.
