Abstract

The article offers information on the Eurasian Tree Sparrow. As stated, the birds were imported in 1870 in North America by a bird dealer from Germany. It states that because of the birds' ancestry and strong association with the local German community, they were called German Sparrows. It states that however the sparrows have not spread much in the past 140 years due to the competition with the bigger, bolder House Sparrows.
