Abstract: The present study is a retrospective survey of posttraumatic hemoperitoneum addmited in the Surgical Departament I and II of the County Clinical Emergency Hospital of Sibiu, during 2006-2010. The study material included the info-biographical and medical data from the medical documents of 142 pacients. The study revealed that, in most cases, the posttraumatic hemoperitoneum is secondary to traffic accidents (53 cases), falling accidents (40 cases) and interpersonal aggressions (39 cases).
