Abstract
- The article discusses time spent by the American poet Elizabeth Bishop in Nova Scotia, Canada and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and examines its influence on her work. Poems including "First Death in Nova Scotia," "In the Village," and "Poem" are examined, and their themes of family and nostalgia are touched on.
