Abstract
- The article informs regarding the insurance law of the U.S. It discusses one of the cases Derousse v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., of the Missouri Supreme Court. It mentions that the court in this case redefined the approach and created a new scope of liability in cases related to insurance law coverage for pure emotional distress caused by uninsured motorists. The traditional conservative approach of court to allow emotional damages in tort claims was revisited in this case.
