Abstract
- An essay is presented that analyzes the notion of mystery in the thought of Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. It notes Williams' cautious assessment of critical modes of theology, connecting this to his study of Eastern Orthodox thought and negative theology. The author discusses the significance of Easter and Christ's resurrection for Williams' view of paradox in theological language. Williams' readings of writers Fyodor Dostoevsky and Marilynne Robinson are also addressed.
