Abstract

The article focuses on a research conducted in order to evaluate the potential application of the bushmint, Hyptis suaveolens (H. suaveolens), for the control of infestation on maize, Zea mays caused by the pink stalk borer, Sesamia calamistis in southern Benin, West Africa. It discusses the comparison of the aqueous extract of H. suaveolens with the commercial insecticide furadan. The study revealed the importance of the aqueous extract of H. suaveolens as an inhibitor.
