Abstract

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to review the relationship between cybernetics and psychology. Design/methodology/approach – The paradigms of cybernetics are reviewed and then applied to psychology. Findings – Applying the paradigms of cybernetics to psychology provides a conceptually coherent account of what is a psychological individual. Originality/value – It is of value to bring conceptual coherence to the discipline of psychology, which, thus far in its history, has lacked it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
