Abstract
- The article offers insights on the relationship between the structures and functions in orb webs regarding hierarchical structure of silk proteins. Illustrated are the mechanical properties of spider-silk fibres and webs through combinations of modelling and experiments. Noted are the primary sequence of silk proteins as the answer in response to nonlinear responses from the proteic structure of silk.
