Abstract
- The article proposes an alternative estimate of the duration between the Permian-Triassic (P-T) mass extinction events. Evidence for astronomical forcing was obtained through high-resolution magnetic susceptibility data from the Huangzhishan Section of South China. A ‵700 ka duration was observed between the two extinction events via time series analysis and astronomical calibration. it cites 600-700 ka as the minimum duration between the two P-T extinction events.
